glass photo - 11/20/2003
Can anyone tell me anything about glass photos please?? I have one from my granparents - its of a lady and is what looks like developed onto glass with a plack paint backing to stop the glass from being see-through. It has a copper frame that fits on the front. What can you tell me about this photo please??

You have an Ambrotype. It was a photographic process dating from about 1855 and lasted about 10 years. Search on Google or similiar with the word ambrotype for a lot of information and examples.
