What does a mean that a camera is a 35mm? - 10/16/2004
Hi, my name is Juan and I'm new to photography. I would like to know if anybody can tell me what the term "35mm" means when characterizing a camera?

why the film and camera are called 35mm good luck with you photos max

hey, 35mm refers to the width of the film itself. A 35mm still camera takes images that are 24x36mm. 35 movie cameras have a variety of image sizes, none of which are 35mm (only one obscure one, VistaVision is even close)
