A ring of educational as well as entertaining pages that present baroque music, art, history, or literature. The baroque era embraced a style which was highly elaborate and decorative, whether it was the architecture or the music. It was the time in which the composition of polyphonal works with fugue forms was highly developed, particularly under Johann Sebastian Bach. Other composers of the era included, Schutz, Handel, Purcell, Telemann, Couperin, and artists included Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Caravaggio. Typical instruments included recorder, harpsichord, and pipe organ, which was highly developed, and installed in cathedrals, while trumpets as yet remained valveless, natural horns. The photo is Catane San Benedetto, Italy.
